Site Monitoring & Auto-recovery

Geocortex Monitor is a module that performs regularly scheduled requests against ArcIMS and ArcMap Server applications to ensure proper functioning. Site uptime can be verified as frequently as every minute, depending on the importance of the application.

If a site is found to be unavailable, an Administrator can specify a particular response. One or more individuals can be emailed or paged, or Geocortex Uptime can be configured to immediately begin trying to troubleshoot and resolve the issue using an escalating, entirely adjustable series of responses.

Streamlined Site Management

While Geocortex Uptime can be used in conjunction with ArcIMS Administrator, it is designed as a full-featured alternative that does not require parallel use of ArcIMS Administrator. You can start, stop, refresh and create Mapservices. You can change the settings associated with those Mapservices.

However, Geocortex Uptime offers a number of powerful, time-saving features that extend the management tools provided with ESRI’s ArcIMS Administrator software.

Geocortex Uptime helps you store and manage AXL/MXD files. You are able to revert to earlier versions of a configuration file, or adjust an existing AXL file from within the application. Though configuration file management is self contained, you can also use a database to manage configuration files in the background.

Software & Hardware Requirements

Geocortex Uptime requires approximately 200MB free disk space, and runs in a Windows environment.

Wherever possible, Geocortex Uptime has been developed using Java technology, though an optional component uses a feature only available using Microsoft’s .NET.

Geocortex Uptime Manager uses a web-based interface accessible using a regular Internet browser (Mozilla 1.1, Netscape 5.5 +, and Internet Explorer 5.x +), subject to appropriate permissions. Access can be limited to the Intranet only.
