The Conference has concluded

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the third annual IMF/Geocortex User Conference, which took take place April 20 - 22nd, 2008. The conference was held at the picturesque Delta Victoria Ocean Point Resort & Spa in Victoria, BC. It was a successful event.

Building upon the feedback and growth we’ve experienced from our previous two conferences, we made some changes for attendees. Session tracks were expanded from two to three, we increased our offering of technical workshops and added a new demo island where users could test drive new IMF/Geocortex applications (as well as demonstrating their own).

Our workshop offerings were expanded, both in topics and number. ‘Java Basics for IMF’ offered an introduction to IMF configuration/customization. ‘IMF Application Development ’ provided hands-on advanced IMF development training. And “Getting Started with Geocortex Essentials” provided a full day of instruction for the configuration and customization of this relatively new product.

On the weekend prior to the conference, we provided opportunities for guests to get acquainted with Victoria, and discover why our city has become so popular with international visitors! From exploring Victoria’s historic downtown and gardens to whale watching and other outdoor activities, the area offers something for everyone.

The main conference officially began with a social reception on Sunday night. During the core sessions on Monday and Tuesday, we offered separate session tracks for advanced developers, new developers, and non-technical attendees. User presentations were a major emphasis. Latitude's focus was on Geocortex IMF and Geocortex Essentials, but the schedule also included sessions related to ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server, effective application design, system planning, and hardware/software implementation.

Particularly if you’re working on a strategy with regards to a transition to ArcGIS Server, you won’t want to miss next year--which will be another opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and continue building a mutually-beneficial Geocortex community.

Note: Presentations will be posted in the coming weeks.
