Geocortex Managed Co-location

With Managed Co-location, a client's ArcGIS Server or ArcIMS architecture (software and hardware) is deployed from the Latitude Geographics Data Centre and is managed by our team of expert ArcGIS Server/ArcIMS administrators. Outsourcing ArcGIS Server or ArcIMS deployment to Latitude Geographics is an extremely cost effective way to deploy an ArcGIS Server or ArcIMS architecture, while ensuring maximum security, performance and uptime. There is no long term contract, and we have a proven migration strategy, should you wish to deploy in-house at any time.

We provide the following:

  • Upgrades/maintenance relating to the operating system, web server, ArcGIS Server or ArcIMS, ArcSDE, Servlet engine, and Geocortex Essentials or Geocortex IMF
  • Maximum possible uptime
  • 24/7 x 365 service response
  • Site optimization and load management
  • Regular data backups
  • Infrastructure security
  • Geocortex IMF viewer and access to Geocortex Site Manager (1)

The climate controlled Geocortex server room is protected by a security system that includes fire and flood sensors, while important client data is protected by a carefully administered firewall. Geocortex hosting provides full UPS protection, regular tape backups, and emergency server resources. Our servers and high speed Internet connection offer fast, reliable service.

The Latitude Geographics Data Center is fully climate controlled, and the physical premises are located in an earthquake-reinforced building that is protected from fire by an Inergen-based fire suppression system. The Data Center is secure from unauthorized access (verified Photo-ID passcard access to facility with 24-hr video monitoring) and your system and data are protected by a carefully administered firewall. The facility offers multi-day UPS protection, Latitude Geographics conducts regular backups (a schedule is determined based on your requirements), and appropriate back-up emergency server resources are available should your equipment fail. The Latitude Geographics Data Center offers high speed Internet connectivity (100MB/s) through redundant fiber optic cable connections that offer fast, reliable service.

This is a popular service because it is so flexible—organizations can easily transfer their entire Internet mapping infrastructure in-house when they are ready. Coupled with an effective migration plan and training program, we make the move from a co-located solution to a completely in-house architecture a smooth, transparent process.

(1) While clients do not need to license Geocortex Essentials (for ArcGIS Server) or Geocortex IMF (for ArcIMS) during co-location of a Spatial Server running from our base architecture, Goeocortex Essentials or Geocortex IMF must be licensed if a Client migrates their system in-house and wishes to continue using the Geocortex software. Clients are free to switch to any other viewer technology at the time of migration.
